Adds /craft-goal autocomplete and chat handling for starting a Goal crafting session.
Introduces new Magic Prompts content and localized labels/descriptions for Goal crafting.
Migrates desktop draft starters to include Craft a Goal once and persists the migration marker.
Arm the target button in the composer and the next prompt becomes a goal:
the server keeps the session working toward it (idle tick -> small-model
audit -> continuation) until the objective is verifiably complete, blocked,
or out of budget — even with the UI closed.
Server (packages/web/server/lib/session-goal):
- event-driven loop on the global SSE hub; goal state lives in
session.metadata.openchamber.goal (merge-safe patches, stale-write guard
by goal id), so it survives restarts and syncs to every client for free
- the small-model audit (objective + last assistant turn only, language
pinned to the objective) is the sole termination authority; blocked needs
3 consecutive verdicts, audit outages tolerate one unaudited continuation
then stop the goal as resumable-blocked
- hard stops: optional token budget, auto-continuation cap (Resume grants a
fresh allowance), turn errors; user abort pauses the goal instead of
blocking it, and resuming over an aborted tail nudges immediately
- token accounting as a snapshot of the latest turn (input + cache.read +
output), goal-relative via a creation baseline and segmented across
compactions; a compaction summary skips the audit and continues
- continuations reuse the session's own provider/model/agent/variant
UI:
- three-mode target button (arm / disarm / manage dialog), informational
goal strip with inline pause/resume and an Evaluating indicator, sidebar
state glyph, objective length counter (2000-char server clamp),
read-only completed goals
- goal entry points: composer (sessions and drafts), start-new-session-
from-answer dialog, plan implement dialog (plan content becomes the
objective), scheduled tasks (Run as goal + budget)
- Settings -> Chat -> Goal: feature toggle + default token budget with
three-layer parity (web server, client persistence, VS Code bridge);
VS Code renders goal state but hides the entry points (the loop runs in
the web server only)
Notifications: per-turn "ready" notifications are suppressed while a goal
is active; settling sends one final notification (desktop, web-push, APNs
generic titles with the session name as body) honoring the completion
toggle. Error/question/permission notifications are untouched.
Docs: user guide (session-goals) in all 9 locales + sidebar entry,
scheduled-tasks cross-reference, server module DOCUMENTATION.md.
* feat(settings): add editor font size setting for chat input and code editor
Adds an 'Editor font size' control in Settings > Appearance that sets an
absolute px font size for the chat input textarea and the in-app
CodeMirror editor. Mirrors the existing terminalFontSize lifecycle.
- New store field editorFontSize (default 13, clamp 9-32, step 1) in
useUIStore with narrow selectors at each consumer.
- Persistence wired through appearanceAutoSave, desktop + runtime API
types, and persistence.ts read/normalize.
- Settings UI row (NumberInput) with reset to 13, VisibleSetting union
entry, OpenChamberPage registration, and search index entry
appearance.editor-font-size.
- Applied as a post-zoom absolute override on the chat input textarea
and on the CodeMirror theme's content rule, leaving gutter/line-number
chrome at its existing hardcoded sizes (matches terminal scope).
- All 10 locales translated (en, es, fr, ja, ko, pl, pt-BR, uk, zh-CN,
zh-TW); no English placeholders in non-English dictionaries.
Refs #1325
* fix(codemirror): use unitless lineHeight so it scales with editor font size
The & rule in the CodeMirror theme set lineHeight to 1.5rem (~24px),
which does not scale when editorFontSize is increased (e.g., 28-32px).
This causes overlapping lines at larger font sizes.
Change to unitless 1.5, which scales proportionally with whatever fontSize
resolves to (dynamic prop or --text-code fallback). Matches browser best
practice for proportional leading.

Add Windows launch-at-login with background startup support and extend the
native tray integration to Windows.
Add a Windows-only setting to minimize or close the main window to the
system tray, persist it through desktop settings, and expose it in Settings
search and all locale dictionaries.
Keep tray state synchronized with live sessions on both macOS and Windows,
while preserving the existing macOS behavior.
- Each saved server row shows live reachability (Connected · Nms ping /
Unreachable / Auth required) with a status dot, probed once per list change
through the shared HTTP/relay probe (relay probing moved to desktopHosts as
probeRelayDesktopHost, reused by the host switcher)
- Section header: one short description, Import Link promoted to the primary
action; the token-storage note moved into the Add Server dialog next to the
token field it describes, and the dialog got its own description
The pairing session is single-use, so it leaving the pending list (polled
every 5s) means it was redeemed — close the dialog and toast success. Armed
only after the pairing has been seen in the pending list, so the stale list
at result-phase open can't blink the dialog shut; expired/cancelled sessions
close it silently. Pending-list polling now preserves the previous list on a
transient fetch failure instead of blanking it (which would also have faked
the redeem signal).
Reworks how devices connect to an OpenChamber server, end to end.
Pairing v2:
- One-time pairing links/QR codes (openchamber://connect?v=2) carrying a set of transport candidates (LAN/tunnel/relay) and a single-use secret redeemed server-side; no tokens embedded in links
- Add-a-device dialog written for first-time users: intent-based transport choice (Anywhere / Home network only / This computer only) with plain-language descriptions, transparent fallback checkboxes, server-authoritative LAN detection, high-res QR dialog
- Private relay folded into pairing as a transport candidate with a demand-driven lifecycle (enables when a relay device is paired, disables when none remain)
Multi-transport devices:
- A saved device holds all its transports and one token; mobile re-probes on connect, resume, and network change and hot-switches LAN<->relay seamlessly (no re-pairing, no remount, session preserved)
- Desktop can import relay pairing links, switch to relay hosts through the E2EE tunnel, and restore a relay default host after relaunch
Device management:
- Device list (web + desktop) shows live per-device connectivity with the active transport (Connected - Local network / Relay) and platform badges (iOS/Android/macOS/Windows/Linux)
- One physical device = one record: stable per-install dedupe keys across pairing and password re-login; typed pairing label names the device, paired devices name the connection by the issuing server hostname
- Trusted desktop-local client manages all devices (list, revoke, clear revoked); relay host reaps dead client sockets after 3 missed keepalives
Android:
- LAN transport unblocked (cleartext + mixed content, mirroring iOS ATS exceptions); resume re-probe retries through network flux and silently auto-reconnects from a disconnected state
* feat(chat): migrate history list to @tanstack/react-virtual with deterministic mobile history loading
- Replace virtua with @tanstack/react-virtual for chat history on all
surfaces: bottom anchoring (anchorTo: end), key-stable prepend
preservation, and native iOS touch/momentum deferral live in the core
- Patch virtual-core to clamp the render range to real scroll bounds
during transient adjustments (OpenCode upstream parity)
- Rows render in normal flow inside a translated wrapper so sticky user
headers keep working; measurement snapshots cached per session
- Pre-write container height in scrollToFn so the browser cannot clamp
anchor corrections to the stale height; hold the prepend anchor for up
to 180 frames on mobile while fresh rows settle (cancelled by user
input; desktop relies on core anchoring alone)
- Adaptive row-size estimate from per-session measured averages; disable
reveal fade-in for virtualized history rows
- Mobile loads older history only through an explicit localized top
button: no scroll-position trigger and no post-mount background
prepend, so every insert happens from a resting state; a quiet-window
hold defers any stray prepend commit while a touch gesture is active
- Desktop/VS Code keep the seamless scroll-up trigger and progressive
background prepend
* Share project edit form between settings and sidebar dialog
Extract ProjectIdentityFields and useProjectIdentityForm so the projects
settings page and sidebar Edit dialog share the same layout and behavior.
Rename the project menu action from Rename to Edit, and add per-project
default model selection for new chats with persistence and draft-session
resolution ahead of global defaults.
Co-authored-by: Serhii Dziupin <makeittech@users.noreply.github.com>
* Unify project edit UI with shared ProjectIdentityEditor shell
Wrap header, fields, and inline Save changes button in one editor
component used identically by settings projects page and sidebar
dialog. Remove dialog-specific footer, title, and padding so both
surfaces render the same layout.
Co-authored-by: Serhii Dziupin <makeittech@users.noreply.github.com>
* Include Actions and Worktree sections in project Edit dialog
Extract ProjectSettingsPanel with the full settings=projects content
(identity, actions, worktree) and render it from both the settings page
and sidebar Edit dialog. Keep the dialog open after identity save so
users can configure actions and worktrees without reopening.
Co-authored-by: Serhii Dziupin <makeittech@users.noreply.github.com>
* Narrow project Edit dialog to modal-appropriate width
Use max-w-2xl instead of max-w-4xl so the popup does not inherit the
full settings page width.
Co-authored-by: Serhii Dziupin <makeittech@users.noreply.github.com>
* Unify project settings subsections and auto-save all fields
- Add shared ProjectSettingsSubsection with consistent titles and dividers
- Auto-save identity, actions, and worktree setup commands (debounced)
- Remove Save changes and Save Actions buttons
- Split worktree into Worktree and Existing worktrees subsections
- Align controls to shared max width across all subsections
Co-authored-by: Serhii Dziupin <makeittech@users.noreply.github.com>
* Harden project settings auto-save error handling
- Only update worktree setup snapshot after successful save; toast on failure
- Toast when actions auto-save is blocked by validation for >1s
Co-authored-by: Serhii Dziupin <makeittech@users.noreply.github.com>
* Show toast when project identity auto-save fails
Wrap onSave in try/catch and surface settings.projects.page.toast.saveFailed
so rejected parent callbacks are not silently swallowed.
Co-authored-by: Serhii Dziupin <makeittech@users.noreply.github.com>
* Fix clearing project default model from settings
Send null instead of undefined when no default model is selected so
updateProjectMeta enters the defaultModel branch and deletes the field.
Apply consistently in prepareSaveData, ProjectsPage, and SessionSidebar.

Adds a chat code block wrap toggle in markdown code block headers
Persists and restores the setting across desktop/web settings
Adds localized labels and OpenChamber search entry for the new option
Adds OpenChamber Relay — an opt-in way to reach an instance from a phone,
browser, or another desktop from anywhere, with no open inbound ports, no
tunnel, and no shared LAN. The instance dials outbound to a relay; all app
traffic (HTTP, the event stream, terminal, dictation) is multiplexed and
encrypted through a single connection per client, so the relay only ever
forwards opaque ciphertext.
Transport
- End-to-end-encrypted channel over WebCrypto (ECDH P-256 -> HKDF ->
AES-256-GCM) with a capability-negotiated handshake and a small
HTTP/SSE/WebSocket multiplexing protocol. A byte-compatible JS host mirror
is cross-checked by tests.
- Host: outbound connection manager, per-client tunnel dispatcher to the local
server over loopback, reuse of the existing instance identity key, and
management routes. Disabled by default; explicit opt-in.
- Client: plugs into the existing runtime layer (runtime-fetch/-url/-switch/
-auth, event pipeline, terminal, dictation) so features work over the relay
unchanged; direct-URL and Electron realtime-proxy paths are untouched.
Pairing & UX
- Relay section in Settings -> Remote Instances (live status, QR/link pairing,
revocation via the existing client-token list) and the mobile connect flow.
- Frame batching and idle-gated keepalive keep tunnel message volume low
without affecting streaming smoothness.
Security
- The tunnel is transport only; the server authenticates every tunneled
request exactly as for a direct remote client.
fragments only. The relay stores no keys, tokens, or payloads.
Operability
- The endpoint can be pinned to a self-hosted rel
paired clients inherit it from the offer automatically.
- Relay module DOCUMENTATION.md and a relay-trans
invariants that future WebSocket/streaming changes must follow.
The relay transport is complete and tested; the UI for enabling and pairing
is gated behind openchamber_relay_gate and stays
Adds a server-side "small model" capability: direct, cheap LLM calls that
reuse the user's existing OpenCode provider logins — the mechanism OpenCode
uses internally for titles and summaries but does not expose through the
SDK or plugins. Zero new dependencies; plain fetch with per-provider wire
formats, credentials never leave the server.
Core (packages/web/server/lib/small-model):
- Resolution mirrors OpenCode's session scoping: explicit settings override
→ small_model from the OpenCode config → family scan within the session's
provider → the session's own model. The global provider scan only serves
callers without a session context, and background callers forbid it
entirely (restrictToPreferredProvider), so conversation content never
reaches a provider the user didn't pick — explicit choices excepted.
- Per-provider auth replicating OpenCode's plugin loaders: GitHub Copilot
(device token as bearer, no exchange), ChatGPT plan via the codex
Responses API (single-flight OAuth refresh written back to auth.json),
Anthropic messages, Google generateContent, generic OpenAI-compatible.
- OpenCode's free models (opencode/big-pickle, *-free) are never called
directly; unauthenticated providers are skipped by design.
- Prompt clamping to the model's catalog context limit; thinking disabled
where a wire switch exists (Z.AI/GLM, MiniMax-M3, Gemini Flash); robust
content parsing with a clear error when a thinking model spends its whol
budget on reasoning.
- Settings → Sessions gains a Small Model group: use-default checkbox plus
an override picker limited to authenticated providers, persisted with
web/desktop/VS Code sanitization parity.
Consumers:
- Session assist: a server-side watcher on the global SSE hub generates a
short recap and one suggested follow-up after a session idles quietly fo
a minute, stored on session metadata (openchamber.assist). Freshness is
keyed to the last assistant message id, so new activity invalidates the
payload everywhere with no extra writes. The chat shows the recap under
the last message after five quiet minutes and the suggestion as a
dismissible chip above the composer (tap fills the input, never sends).
Gated by a new Chat setting (default on) that is a hard generation
switch. Language is anchored to the conversation itself, with a
script-mismatch guard against model/backend language hallucination.
- TTS: a third input mode, summarized — long replies are condensed to
spoken prose before playback on any TTS engine.
- Git: commit-message and PR generation moved off the active chat session
onto the small model fed with real diffs and the commit list (bodies
included), with a session-transport fallback for free-model-only setups.
- Notes: Add to notes distills long selections into 1-3 dense sentences
preserving exact identifiers, with verbatim fallback on failure.
Fixes along the way:
- The global event watcher now starts unconditionally; it was gated behind
the desktop-notify env, leaving the server-side event hub dead in
packaged apps.
- OpenCode re-emits message.updated for old user messages after idle; the
watcher no longer mistakes those for new activity.
- Session metadata merges from a fresh read right before the PATCH, so
writes made during the generation window (suggestion dismissals, review
links) are preserved; the assist runtime stops during graceful shutdown.
Complete rebuild of voice input on a server-authoritative streaming
architecture, replacing the legacy Web Speech / whole-blob / WASM engines
and the dead voice-agent layer (~4k lines removed).
Speech-to-text (dictation):
- Client streams 16 kHz mono PCM16 chunks over /api/dictation/ws with
seq/ack ordering; buffered audio is retained and replayed on reconnect
- Server transcribes and streams live partial transcripts back;
segments auto-commit every ~15s with silence suppression and adaptive
finalization timeouts
- Local provider (default, zero config): sherpa-onnx models in a forked
worker process — auto-download with progress, staged extraction with
verification, corrupt-model auto-recovery, idle shutdown after 5 min
- Model catalog with settings picker (accuracy/speed ratings, sizes,
download/delete): Parakeet TDT v2 (English) and v3 (25 European
languages, auto-detected), Whisper base and tiny (multilingual, light)
- OpenAI-compatible provider for any Whisper endpoint
- Composer overlay with live transcript, volume meter, timer, and
cancel / insert / insert-and-send actions; failed transcriptions keep
their audio for retry or accepting the partial text as-is
- Configurable keyboard shortcut (default mod+alt+v) toggles dictation;
Enter confirms and Escape cancels while recording
- Overlay is pixel-aligned with the composer (measured footer height,
matching paddings/typography/gaps) — no layout shift when toggling
Text-to-speech:
- Local Kokoro provider (English, 11 voices) synthesized in the same
worker via /api/dictation/tts/speak, managed by the shared model
pipeline; sentence-pipelined playback keeps time-to-first-audio at
~1 sentence regardless of message length, and stop cancels in-flight
synthesis
- Sanitizer keeps inline-code content (strips backticks only), reads
interword slashes aloud, and removes only absolute file paths
Settings:
- Voice page unified: a single read-aloud toggle owns all playback
options (the confusing "Enable Voice Mode" is gone); a new "Enable
voice input" toggle (default on, persisted to settings.json) hides
the composer mic entirely when disabled
Mobile and transport:
- iOS/Android microphone permissions added (dictation was previously
impossible on mobile)
- Fixed Android WebSocket upgrades: the Capacitor WebView origin
(https://localhost) was missing from the packaged-client allowlist,
403-ing every WS connection — root cause of the old mobile SSE lock,
which is now removed for all transports
Security and conventions:
- All HTTP routes sit behind the global /api auth gate; the WS upgrade
explicitly validates the UI session and origin, with oc_url_token
narrowly allowlisted and covered by tests; the dictation socket mints
a fresh URL token before connecting
- Routes register before the generic OpenCode proxy; the client goes
through runtimeFetch/getRuntimeUrlResolver, and runtime switches
reset the dictation socket
- VS Code deliberately reports dictation as unavailable (no server
process in that runtime)
CI: workflow Node bumped 20 -> 22 to match the repo engines and fix
better-sqlite3 installs broken by node-gyp@latest on Node 20.
New dependency: sherpa-onnx-node (prebuilt N-API; macOS/Linux x64+arm64,
Windows x64 — Windows-on-ARM falls back to the OpenAI-compatible provider)
The parenthetical explanations wrapped to two lines and added little — the
section header already gives context and the two terms are self-explanatory.
* feat: support OpenCode steer delivery / follow-up behavior settings
Implements issue #1766 — steer delivery mode for mid-turn message
insertion, replacing the old boolean queue-mode toggle with a tri-state
follow-up behavior setting (Steer / Queue / Send immediately).
- Plumbing: threaded optional delivery: 'steer' through sendMessage
-> routeMessage -> opencodeClient.sendMessage -> promptAsync
- Store: messageQueueStore stores followUpBehavior; migration from
legacy queueModeEnabled persisted state
- Settings: Chat -> Follow-up behavior shows three radio options
using existing settings UI patterns
- Composer: when session is busy, a floating queue button remains;
force-sending a queued message (via chip click) uses delivery: 'steer'
during a busy session; Steer button intentionally omitted — steer is
available via the two-gesture path (Enter to queue -> chip to steer)
- Keyboard: queue mode = Enter queues, Ctrl+Enter sends; otherwise
Enter sends, Ctrl+Enter queues
- Persistence: DesktopSettings, web settings payload, and server-side
sanitizer handle the new key with legacy fallback
- i18n: follow-up behavior section and option labels in all 9 locales
plus new chat.chatInput.actions.queue label
- Search: settings registry updated from chat.queue-mode to
chat.follow-up-behavior
Validation: type-check passes (no new errors), lint clean.
* fix(#1766): make steer mode actually steer
The followUpBehavior === 'steer' branch in handlePrimaryAction and the
keyboard handler was a no-op — both fell into the else branch and sent
without the delivery: 'steer' flag, so selecting 'Steer (insert into
the running turn)' in settings produced identical behavior to 'Send
immediately'.
- handlePrimaryAction: when steer mode is selected and the session is
busy, call handleSubmit({ delivery: 'steer' }) directly
- Keyboard handler: in steer mode, Enter steers and Ctrl+Enter sends
immediately (consistent with queue mode where Ctrl+Enter bypasses
the special handling)
Also removes the unused chat.chatInput.actions.queue i18n key from all
9 locales (it was a dead key after the Steer button was removed from
the composer).
Validation: type-check clean, lint clean.
* refactor(#1766): flatten nested ternary in followUpBehavior resolution
Replace nested ternary with explicit if/else chain per project code style
(CONTRIBUTING.md). Import FollowUpBehavior type explicitly for the new
let declaration.
* feat(chat): drop redundant 'immediate' follow-up mode, keep Queue + Steer
'Immediate' was wire-identical to 'Steer' on a busy session: OpenCode only
supports delivery 'steer' | 'queue' and defaults to 'steer', so an immediate
send (no delivery flag) already steered into the running turn. The three-mode
UI therefore exposed two settings that did the same thing.
Collapse to two modes — Queue (unchanged: client-side queue with edit/reorder)
and Steer. Any persisted/legacy 'immediate' (and legacy queueModeEnabled=false)
now maps to 'steer', preserving prior behavior. Removes the immediate option,
its keyboard branch, the i18n label across all locales, and narrows the
followUpBehavior union to 'steer' | 'queue'.

Show a count of chats (root sessions) with unseen activity on the macOS
dock icon. The count is computed in the existing tray snapshot (full
cross-project list, not the capped tray view; a subtask's unseen rolls up
to its root only when subtask notifications are enabled) and pushed to the
main process over the existing desktop_tray_update IPC, which calls
app.setBadgeCount (0 clears it). The badge clears as sessions are marked
seen on window focus.
Add a Dock badge toggle in Appearance settings (default on, persisted,
darwin desktop only), localized across all dictionaries, with a matching
settings-search entry whose availability mirrors the render guard exactly.
* feat(shortcuts): make 'Open model selector' shortcut customizable
Lets users remap the model selector shortcut (e.g. to Ctrl+M) via
Settings > OpenChamber > Shortcuts, matching OpenCode's quick
model-switch keybinding workflow.
Co-authored-by: Serhii Dziupin <makeittech@users.noreply.github.com>
* fix(agents): surface manual-restart needed when on external OpenCode
Agent prompt/permission/settings edits are written to disk, but an
external OpenCode server (skip-start or auto-detected on the default
port) is not owned by OpenChamber and is only health-probed on config
change, so it keeps serving its startup-cached config until restarted.
The API previously claimed a successful reload, so the UI silently
reverted the edit to the stale/default value on refresh.
Now refreshOpenCodeAfterConfigChange reports whether a real reload
happened; agent routes return requiresManualRestart for external mode;
and the agents UI keeps the saved values and warns the user to restart
their OpenCode server instead of showing a false success. Managed mode
behavior is unchanged (process is restarted and reload is live).

* feat(agents): expose thinking variant configuration in agent settings
Fix#1425: add variant field to agent config UI so users can configure
thinking/reasoning depth per agent without editing opencode.json.
Changes:
- Added variant to AgentConfig and AgentDraft types in useAgentsStore
- Pass variant in createAgent and updateAgent API calls
- Support null for temperature, top_p, and variant to clear overrides
- Added variant input field in AgentsPage 'Model & Parameters' section
- Added variant to settings search registry
- Added i18n strings for variant field in all 8 non-English locales
The variant field maps to provider-specific parameters (e.g. Anthropic
high/max variant, OpenAI reasoning effort). Users can enter any string
value; the SDK passes it through to the model provider.
Clearing temperature/topP/variant now sends null to the server instead
of omitting the field, which properly removes the override in
opencode.json.
* fix(sync): preserve tool state.time in materialization merge
* chore: trigger re-review
* fix(agents): use thinking variant selector in settings
* fix(agents): preserve thinking variant values

Adds `gh` CLI as a GitHub credential fallback for users who already have
`gh auth login` configured locally. OpenChamber-owned OAuth credentials
remain the primary source of truth; the `gh` token is only used when no
stored OpenChamber GitHub access token exists and the fallback is not
disabled.
The fallback is implemented as a credential provider only: GitHub features
continue to use the existing Octokit/GitHub API paths for issues, pull
requests, checks, merges, and related operations. The PR does not replace
those endpoints with `gh issue` or `gh pr` CLI commands.
Server changes:
- Add `gh-cli-credential.js` to read `gh auth token` with a bounded timeout.
- Cache the `gh` token lookup for 30 seconds, including negative results,
to avoid repeated subprocess spawning on status/polling paths.
- Hide the subprocess window on Windows via `windowsHide: true`.
- Clear the gh CLI token cache when the fallback setting changes.
- Update `getOctokitOrNull()` to prefer stored OpenChamber OAuth tokens and
fall back to the `gh` token only when enabled.
- Add `ghCliDisabled` persistence in the existing settings file with atomic
writes and `0o600` file permissions.
- Add `POST /api/github/auth/gh-cli` to enable or disable the fallback.
- Extend `/api/github/auth/status` with `ghCli` metadata: availability,
disabled state, active state, and active user when applicable.
UI/runtime changes:
- Extend `GitHubAuthStatus` and `GitHubAPI` with gh CLI fallback metadata
and toggle support.
- Add web RuntimeAPI support for toggling the gh CLI fallback through
`runtimeFetch`, preserving active runtime/remote target behavior.
- Add deterministic VS Code unsupported handling for the gh CLI toggle.
- Update GitHub Settings to show gh CLI availability and active status.
- When gh CLI is the active auth source, show it in the connected account
card and offer Disable instead of Disconnect.
- Keep Add Account available so users can still connect an OpenChamber OAuth
account, which then takes priority over gh CLI.
- Add localized gh CLI settings strings across supported settings locales.
Fixes addressed during review:
- Removed unreachable UI branches in the inactive gh CLI card.
- Avoided duplicate and repeated `gh auth token` subprocess calls.
- Hardened settings file permissions for the new persisted flag.
- Routed the gh CLI toggle through the RuntimeAPI/runtimeFetch path instead
of direct browser `fetch`.
- Added targeted tests for hidden subprocess options and negative-result
cache behavior.
- Fixed a VS Code webview Response body typing issue that blocked type-check.
Adds item-level search inside Settings so users can find concrete settings like provider auth, agent mode, terminal font size, tunnel options, notification events, and similar controls instead of only filtering top-level pages.
Groups search results by Settings page and shows localized labels plus optional descriptions where useful.
Supports keyboard navigation with Arrow Up/Down, Enter, and Escape, matching the existing autocomplete interaction style.
Opens the correct Settings page or split-page draft state before scrolling to the matching control.
Highlights the matched setting with a subtle token-based background so users can see where they landed without an aggressive outline.
Adds explicit data-settings-item anchors across Settings pages and a centralized search registry with runtime/mobile availability guards.
Updates Settings UI skill guidance so future Settings changes keep search registry entries, anchors, localization, and availability guards in sync.
Added a mobile MCP overlay so MCP tools can be opened and managed from the mobile UI without relying on desktop-only dropdown behavior.
Improved mobile session panel touch handling so tapping the status/session area opens the right panel reliably on phones and tablets.
Cleaned up mobile usage provider metadata by removing duplicate rows, hiding unset providers, and showing provider logos consistently.
Added eager loading for provider logos used in mobile usage views to avoid delayed or missing icons when the panel opens.
Refined the mobile update and about flows in OpenChamber settings so release/update information is easier to read on small screens.
Adjusted related layout, header, VS Code layout, command palette, and settings text/localization details needed for the mobile polish.
Add native macOS vibrancy behind the left sidebar (the only translucent
surface; header/chat/right sidebar stay opaque), plus a setting to turn it off.
- Window created with vibrancy applied after first show (avoids the cold-launch
no-composite quirk); minimize/restore suppress the frost during the genie
animation. Renderer frosts the sidebar via --sidebar-vibrancy-overlay once
data-oc-vibrancy[-ready] are set; project-actions pill matches when open.
- data-oc-vibrancy-ready defaults are set in cssGenerator (DOM guaranteed),
not the preload (document-start race left the sidebar un-frosted on launch).
- prefers-reduced-transparency falls back to solid surfaces.
- Appearance settings (macOS desktop only): a checkbox to enable/disable
vibrancy, persisted to settings.json and applied via a Save & restart button
(vibrancy is a window-creation option, so it needs a relaunch).
Add TTS controls to markdown preview surfaces so users can listen to plans
and markdown files directly from the preview toolbar.
Changes:
- Add read-aloud / stop buttons to PlanView markdown preview.
- Add read-aloud / stop buttons to FilesView markdown preview for markdown files.
- Respect the existing showMessageTTSButtons preference in both preview views.
- Add a persisted ttsInputMode setting with sanitized/raw modes.
- Keep sanitized mode as the default for backward compatibility.
- Allow raw markdown only for server TTS providers that can handle markdown.
- Always use sanitized text for browser and macOS say fallback paths.
- Add Voice Settings controls for TTS input mode.
- Add i18n keys for the new preview buttons and setting labels.
- Merge latest main and preserve newer FilesView toolbar/editor changes.
Validation:
- bun test packages/ui/src/stores/useConfigStore.test.ts packages/ui/src/components/chat/message/parts/ToolPart.test.ts packages/web/server/lib/tts/routes.test.js
- bun run type-check
- bun run lint
- git diff --check

relabel the legacy 'default' option as Old (localized as Previous/older where
it reads better) while keeping its stored value for backwards compatibility.
Add a packaged-client runtime boundary so the shared UI can talk to local,
desktop, remote, and VS Code runtimes through the right transport instead of
assuming one same-origin web server.
Centralize OpenChamber-owned API access behind RuntimeAPIs, runtimeFetch, and
runtime URL helpers, while keeping official OpenCode traffic on the SDK path.
Support runtime switching, remote host selection, desktop client credentials,
and headless connection links for pairing packaged clients with remote
OpenChamber servers.
Harden the new auth model by moving long-lived client tokens out of browser
URLs, introducing short-lived scoped URL tokens for browser-owned transports,
restricting URL-token access to explicit readable/realtime routes, and making
client-token management session-scoped or self-scoped as appropriate.
Update browser-owned assets and preview proxy flows to work with the split
runtime model, including authenticated project icons, preview token propagation,
CSP-safe preview bridge injection, and preview proxy auth that survives
short-lived URL-token expiry.
Tighten Electron security boundaries for packaged clients by gating privileged
preload state to trusted origins and requiring explicit confirmation before
connect deep-links import or switch remote runtimes.
Also refresh agent guidance and project skills so future runtime/API, auth,
preview, UI, CLI, settings, locale, and drag-to-reorder work follows the new
architecture.
The old workspace-review prompt only hunted for catastrophic bugs and
omitted everything it wasn't highly certain about, so it usually returned
'No high-signal issues found' and felt useless.
Rework it to first understand the diff's intent and judge whether the
implementation actually achieves it and is adequate (smallest correct
solution, completeness), then review correctness across concrete failure
modes (concurrency, lifecycle, state fanout, comparators, a11y,
regressions, targeted-test gaps) plus a security/supply-chain lens, and
classify findings by severity (blocker / non-blocker / nit). Keeps the
existing false-positive discipline (diff is source of truth, validation
pass, no nitpicks, cite rules) and stays review-only by default.
Adapted from a battle-tested PR-review prompt, minus the GitHub-specific
parts that don't apply to a local workspace diff. Updates command and
settings descriptions across locales.
Reword the /catch-up prompt and its Magic Prompts settings descriptions to
emphasize an easy-to-digest summary rather than a 'warm'/'friendly' tone —
the goal is ease of comprehension, not friendliness. Updated across all
locales.
Rework the /catch-up decision tree from mutually-exclusive cases into
complementary layers. It now determines whether the current branch is the
repo's default branch and builds context accordingly: on a feature branch
it reads enough of the branch's own commits to grasp the intent and checks
the branch's PR even when there are uncommitted changes (so in-progress
work is understood as part of the larger effort); on the default branch it
lightly skims recent commits. Uncommitted changes remain the focal point
but are interpreted through that context.
The suggested next step now favors continuing the actual work over
housekeeping — since running catch-up implies the user stepped away and
the work is likely unfinished, push/PR/checks are only a fallback. Updates
the Magic Prompts settings descriptions across locales to match.
Promote the last plain-prompt draft chip into a proper /explore command so
all draft welcome presets are now commands. Its hidden prompt investigates
the repository and gives a structured orientation — big picture, main
modules, how they connect, conventions, and where to start — instead of a
file-by-file dump.
Follows the established pattern: visible + hidden magic prompts wired into
command autocomplete, the submit handler, the draft chip, and the Magic
Prompts settings page, with i18n across all locales. Drops the now-unused
explore prompt string.
Add /weigh as a draft chip and command for the moment before planning —
when you know what to build but not how. Its hidden prompt investigates
the code, then lays out 2-3 genuinely distinct approaches with trade-offs
(complexity, risk, blast radius, effort) and a clear recommendation,
without writing a plan or code.
Follows the established command pattern: visible + hidden magic prompts
wired into command autocomplete, the submit handler, draft preset chips,
and the Magic Prompts settings page, with i18n across all locales. Adds a
scales-3 icon to the sprite.
Replace the 'What changed recently' draft chip with /catch-up, a command
whose hidden prompt branches on git state: reconstruct intent from an
in-progress diff, check an open PR's review state, or summarize recent
commits.
Add /debug as a new draft chip and command: a guided root-cause
investigation that captures the symptom, forms hypotheses, checks them
against the code, and confirms the cause before proposing a fix.
Both follow the /workspace-review pattern — visible + hidden magic
prompts wired into command autocomplete, the submit handler, draft preset
chips, and the Magic Prompts settings page, with i18n across all locales.
Add starter preset chips under the composer on the desktop draft welcome
screen (explore, what changed, plan, review). Clicking a chip submits
immediately; prompt chips send a natural-language prompt, command chips
reuse built-in slash commands.
Add a new /plan-feature built-in command, modeled on /workspace-review:
visible + hidden magic prompts that run a guided, batched-question
planning dialogue (investigate the code, ask up to 3 clarifying
questions at a time, surface pitfalls, then produce an implementation
plan). Wired into command autocomplete, the submit handler, the draft
plan chip, and the Magic Prompts settings page, with i18n across all
locales.
Add launch-at-startup support across the Electron desktop app and the web CLI.
Electron now supports macOS launch-at-login through the native login item API. Login launches start OpenChamber in the background without opening a window, while Dock activation, deep links, and second-instance launches still open or focus the normal app window. The desktop Settings UI now exposes a localized launch-at-login toggle in Desktop Network Access.
The web CLI now includes `openchamber startup status|enable|disable`, backed by native user services:
- macOS: launchd LaunchAgent
- Linux: systemd --user service
- Windows: Task Scheduler
Startup services run `openchamber serve --foreground` so the OS service manager owns process lifetime and restarts. Foreground service updates now defer restarts to the service manager instead of spawning duplicate CLI restarts.
Startup services snapshot useful environment variables by default so provider tokens, PATH, SSH agent settings, and OpenCode configuration survive login/reboot starts. The snapshot avoids shell/session-only state, uses systemd-compatible env quoting on Linux, and avoids unused env artifacts on macOS.
Also adds localized docs for startup services and environment variables.
