ChangeHowandBohdan Triapitsyn 3a78d86248 fix(ui): open app deep links from chat after confirmation (#2932)
* fix(ui): open app deep links from chat after confirmation

DOMPurify's default URI policy stripped href from anchors with custom
application schemes (obsidian://, vscode://, ...), so every app link
rendered in chat was dead across web, desktop, VS Code, and mobile.

- Classify safe app-link schemes in lib/url.ts (browser-handled,
scriptable, webview-internal, network, and self-deep-link schemes
stay excluded) and let openExternalUrl accept them
- Keep app-link hrefs through the markdown sanitize hook
- Intercept app-link clicks in the markdown renderer and route them
through a confirmation dialog (Trust and open / Open once, dismiss
to cancel) mounted in the desktop/web app root and the mobile shell
- Persist per-device trusted schemes in a zustand store; trusted
  schemes open without asking again

* feat(settings): manage trusted app link schemes in General

Add an App links section to Settings > General listing the application
schemes trusted on this device with a delete action; removing a scheme
restores the confirmation dialog for it. Register the section in
settings search.

* fix(ui): enforce app link confirmation

* fix(ui): handle app links by runtime

* fix(vscode): keep app links unsupported

* fix(settings): clarify trusted app links

Serhii Dziupin 69150366fd fix(ui): correct markdown cache identity, streaming churn, and redundant tiers
Review follow-up on the #2769 highlight caches.

Fingerprint strength. The block/highlight caches are now global and
content-addressed, so a hash collision no longer mis-colors a block — it returns
a *different* block's rendered HTML and shows the user source they never wrote.
Length + one 32-bit FNV-1a is not enough key space for that failure mode at
session scale. `contentFingerprint` now combines two independent 32-bit
multiplicative hashes with a final avalanche (~64 bits); two multiplies per
character are free next to Shiki tokenization.

Streaming churn. Content addressing made every streaming step of the trailing
`live` block insert a new cache entry, so one long message evicted the settled
`full` blocks the fix exists to keep warm. `full` and `live` blocks now use
separate caches; the live cache is small (32 entries / 2MB) because it only has
to absorb repeat renders of the same step.

Redundant worker-side caches. `markdown-worker.ts` is the only sender to the
Shiki worker, and its client cache is larger than the worker-side ones, so the
worker caches could not serve a hit the client had not already served — they
only duplicated up to 48MB of payloads in a second heap. Removed; the reason
memoization belongs on the client is now documented there, along with why only
`highlightTokens` carries a theme in its key.

Dead `cacheKey` plumbing. `renderMarkdownBlocks` kept a `cacheKey` parameter it
only `void`-ed. Removed it and the now-unused `useMorphdomMarkdown` prop; the
remaining call-site local is renamed `fadeKey` for what it actually keys.

Tests: image-mode cache identity, streaming-does-not-evict-settled-blocks,
live-cache reuse, and a 20k same-length-source fingerprint collision check.
Each new guard was verified to fail without its fix.

Serhii Dziupin fc0ae0f445 Merge upstream/main into feat/shiki-re-highlighting-performance-dd3a
Conflict: packages/ui/src/components/chat/markdown/markdownCore.ts

main added per-image-mode markdown parsers (`imageMode` threaded through
`parseBlock` and into the block cache key); this branch replaced the
identity-keyed block cache with a content-addressed LRU. Resolution keeps the
content-addressed cache and folds `imageMode` into the content key, so the
`inline` and `label` renderings of the same source cannot answer for each other.

Serhii DziupinandSerhii Dziupin bc380e6e1b perf: cut cold-start download 58% and startup heap 22% via measured chunk-graph fixes (#2742)
* fix(ui): update session-switch-resync test to current handleEvent/setSessionTodos signatures

Co-authored-by: Serhii Dziupin <makeittech@users.noreply.github.com>

* perf(build): split Shiki grammars/themes, CodeMirror legacy modes, and @pierre/diffs into on-demand chunks

Merging @shikijs/langs into one manual vendor chunk made the first language
request download every grammar (7.4 MB raw / 1 MB gzip). Letting Rollup split
these packages per dynamically imported module downloads only the languages,
themes, and modes actually used — matching how the worker build already
behaves. @pierre/diffs is split the same way so its pure patch parser (used by
the eager tool renderer) no longer drags the Shiki-importing render stack into
the startup graph.

* perf(ui): restore lazy heavy views and stop eager settings-graph loading

- MainLayout: DiffView/FilesView/GitView/PlanView return to lazyWithChunkRecovery
(they were silently made static in 2031e3b4 while their Suspense wrappers
remained), keeping the CodeMirror and @pierre/diffs stacks out of startup.
- ContextPanel: same lazy treatment for its Diff/Files/Git/Plan/Walkthrough
  tabs, with null Suspense fallbacks.
- CommandPalette imported getSettingsNavIcon from SettingsView, statically
pulling the entire settings surface (SkillsPage -> CodeMirrorEditor -> vim
mode, theme registry -> @pierre/diffs) into the eager graph; the helper now
  lives in lib/settings/metadata.
- The windowed SettingsWindow mounts only after its first open: rendering the
lazy component closed made React fetch the SettingsView chunk graph at
  startup.

Co-authored-by: Serhii Dziupin <makeittech@users.noreply.github.com>

* perf(ui): keep @pierre/diffs + Shiki out of the eager chat graph and defer diff worker warmup

- DiffWorkerProvider no longer statically imports @pierre/diffs/worker or the
theme registry, and no longer spawns 3 workers plus a main-thread shared
highlighter during mount. Pools are created on demand through a dynamic
module load, warmed via requestIdleCallback after startup settles, and
useWorkerPool notifies consumers when a pool becomes available.
- ToolPart's rich diff preview moves to lazily loaded ToolPartDiffPreview;
the plain-text patch (PlainDiffFallback) renders while the chunk loads,
mirroring the existing error fallback. Theme registration happens during
render inside the lazy module so PatchDiff never renders unregistered ids.
- ChatInput mounts its lazy ToolOutputDialog only after the first attachment
preview opens instead of fetching the dialog chunk on the draft screen.
- getMarkdownSyntaxVars moves to a pierre-free markdownSyntaxVars module so
eager code-rendering consumers stop importing the registration module.

* perf(web): load ghostty-web and Nerd Fonts on first terminal use

- ghostty-web (638 KB raw JS + WASM VT) is dynamically imported when a
terminal actually mounts; TerminalView stays eagerly importable for the
  bottom dock.
- The ~2 MB of CDN Nerd Fonts are no longer preloaded and force-loaded on
every cold start. index.html exposes an idempotent
__openchamberEnsureNerdFonts hook; TerminalViewport requests it on mount
and waits up to 2s so a cached font is in place before the glyph atlas is
built, while a cold CDN fetch never blocks the terminal. Runtimes without
the hook (VS Code, mobile) resolve immediately, matching their existing
  fallback-font behavior.

00821700de chore: remove dead code (59 unused files + ~125 unused exports) (#1835)
* chore: remove dead/unreferenced files across ui, vscode

Remove 59 unused source files (components, hooks, lib utils, stores,
barrels, and orphaned vscode github modules) that are not imported by
any entry-reachable code. Also drop a stale test mock for the removed
execCommands module.

* refactor: remove unused exported symbols (types, functions, consts, hooks)

Remove exported symbols whose identifier is referenced nowhere in the
repository (verified via repo-wide search), across ui types/contracts,
lib utilities, sync layer, stores, and components. Also drop the few
imports/private helpers orphaned by these removals.

* refactor: remove more unused exports (desktop, shortcuts, worktree, vscode)

Continue removing repo-wide unreferenced exported functions, consts and
types across lib/desktop, shortcuts, worktreeSessionCreator, sync, and
vscode gitService, with cascading orphaned helpers/imports cleaned up.

bashrusakh 59ecd86b4b perf: isolate chat streaming renders and reduce sidebar render cost (#1672)
Reworks the chat and session-sidebar render paths to cut render cascades, memory
  churn, and UI jank on large sessions and big session trees. Behavior is preserved;
the changes are about *when* and *how much* the UI re-renders.

  ## Chat streaming
  - Freeze the streaming message's parts in the bulk turn projection during streaming,
and re-inject live parts only in an isolated tail leaf, so a ~60/sec delta stream
no longer re-runs the whole-session projection or re-renders unrelated rows.
session with referential reuse of unchanged turns.
  - Memoize message rows with field-aware comparators instead of reference equality.
  - Replace the manual child-session polling in the task tool with the live SSE
    stream + a one-shot load, removing a fetch/settle state machine.

  ## History loading & scroll
  - Load an initial page fast, then prepend one older page in the background so the
scroll container has headroom and "load older on scroll-up" fires before the user
    hits the absolute top.
  - Compensate scroll synchronously (in a layout effect, before paint) for prepends —
including background prepends that don't originate from a user scroll — so the
viewport stays stable instead of judder-correcting on the next frame.

  ## Markdown rendering
  - Render markdown synchronously *styled* on first paint (paragraphs, lists, code
cards, tables, inline code) instead of raw escaped text; the async pass then only
upgrades syntax-highlight colors. Eliminates the flash of full-width raw text.
  - Load KaTeX CSS eagerly with the main bundle instead of inside the lazy markdown
chunk, avoiding a late stylesheet injection on first render.

  ## Sidebar
  - Hoist per-row recursive tree walks out of row comparators into per-group
precomputed sets/keys; batch live-session lookups into a single map; add a
    group-level memo boundary.
  - Isolate rename drafts so per-keystroke typing doesn't repaint the row tree.

  ## Sync layer
  - Add a staleness guard so a slow message fetch can't repopulate a session the user
    navigated away from.
  - Throw on fetch failure for authoritative loaders so a transient blip can't read as
    an empty server response.

  ## Cleanup
  - Remove dead code (unused hooks, params, duplicated inline types) surfaced while
    reworking the above.

  ## Known issue
  - A rare, purely cosmetic first-paint width flash can still appear on large sessions;
it has no behavioral or data impact and is tracked for a follow-up runtime trace.

Bohdan Triapitsyn a99eba1ca6 fix(markdown): currency-safe math delimiters
Single-dollar $...$ inline math collided with currency text ($50,
US$ 680, "$50M to $72M"), parsing money as math and corrupting it.
Drop single-dollar inline math; keep $$...$$ display math and add
\(...\) inline and \[...\] display via marked tokenizers (caught at
lex time so they survive backslash escaping and stay code-safe).

Also gate renderMathExpressions on a cheap $-presence check so the
split + regex passes are skipped for the non-math majority of blocks.

Bohdan Triapitsyn 782982cdd3 feat(editor): Shiki syntax highlighting in the file editor (CodeMirror)
Bring the CodeMirror file editor up to the same rich highlighting as the Shiki
file view, so toggling edit <-> view is visually consistent. lezer collapses far
more tokens than TextMate (import/from/const are all "keyword"), so a theme
remap can't reach parity — instead, project real Shiki tokens onto decorations.

- Worker: add highlightTokens — tokenize with an arbitrary registered TextMate
theme and return per-line styled runs with offsets. The theme object ships to
the worker once per name; later calls send only the name.
- New shikiHighlight CodeMirror extension: a StateField of mark decorations
built from worker tokens. Re-tokenizes on a short idle (off the keystroke
path) and maps decorations through edits so colors persist while typing.
- flexokiTheme: add { syntaxColors: false } to keep only the editor UI theme,
so the lezer highlighter doesn't compete with the Shiki decorations.
- FilesView: enable Shiki highlighting (same language resolver as the file view
→ identical language) and drop lezer token colors when it's active. lezer
  language stays on for indentation/folding/brackets.

Bohdan Triapitsyn e41e5bac91 perf(code): replace react-syntax-highlighter and prismjs with the Shiki worker
Route all non-markdown code highlighting through the off-main-thread Shiki
worker, removing react-syntax-highlighter and prismjs entirely.

- Extend the worker with highlightLines: tokenize a whole block once and return
per-line inner HTML, so per-line layouts (diffs, gutters, virtualization) make
one worker call instead of one highlighter per line.
- Add shared WorkerHighlightedCode (whole-block) and useWorkerHighlightedLines
(per-line) primitives. Colors resolve via the --md-syntax-* CSS variables, so
  theme changes never re-highlight.
- Migrate all 12 react-syntax-highlighter call sites: PermissionCard,
ToolPart, ContextSidebarTab, ToolOutputDialog (whole block) and
  DiffPreview/WritePreview (per line).
- Migrate VirtualizedCodeBlock off prismjs to the worker, keeping virtua
virtualization; whole-block tokenization also restores cross-line syntax
  context that per-line highlighting lost.
- Drop react-syntax-highlighter (+types) from ui and web, prismjs (+types) from
ui, and the orphaned create-element type shim.

Bohdan Triapitsyn 464c4ac0ca perf(markdown): move code highlighting off the main thread into a Shiki worker
Tokenize closed code blocks in a dedicated Shiki Web Worker instead of calling
the shared highlighter synchronously on the UI thread. This removes the
one-shot main-thread highlight stall when a code fence closes on a large block.

Streaming behavior is unchanged: the open (streaming) fence still renders as
plain text and is highlighted once on close. On any worker failure the block
keeps its escaped plain code — highlighting never falls back onto the main
thread.

- Add markdownShikiThemeDefinition (dependency-free CSS-variable theme) so the
worker can use the theme without pulling in @pierre/diffs / React.
- Add markdown-worker-protocol, markdown-shiki.worker, and the main-thread
  markdown-worker client.
- Route highlightCodeBlocks through the worker; keep the size/VSCode line guard
and mermaid skip on the main thread.
- Add shiki as a direct dependency (was transitive via @pierre/diffs).

Bohdan Triapitsyn 4d506fba4e perf(markdown): rewrite rendering on marked + Shiki + morphdom
Replace the react-markdown/Prism component tree with an HTML-string
pipeline (marked -> KaTeX -> Shiki -> DOMPurify -> DOM decorators) patched
into the DOM via morphdom, with per-block reconciliation and a paced
streaming reveal. Cuts streaming CPU versus the previous renderer while
preserving file-reference links, mermaid diagrams, table export, and
agent/skill/favicon link handling. Public MarkdownRenderer/
SimpleMarkdownRenderer props are unchanged (drop-in).
