path.get and session.status must both succeed; they have no fallback.

permissions — fetched after first paint without blocking.
* Phase 3 (lazy): session messages — loaded without blocking init.
- App.tsx: Keep identical provider tree before/after init to prevent

Recover stalled event streams without dropping the session
Wait briefly for reconnection before showing connection lost errors
Persist Electron server logs for easier disconnect debugging
* fix(pipeline): distinguish transport switch from real disconnect
WS_FALLBACK errors (e.g. ready timeout → SSE fallback) are transport
switches, not disconnections. No events are lost because lastEventId is
preserved across the switch.
Previously, every WS timeout triggered onDisconnect → onReconnect with a
full resyncDirectoryAfterReconnect, which:
- Missed idle parent sessions in candidate selection (root cause 1)
- Could overwrite in-flight SSE state with stale fetch data (root cause 4)
- Caused isConnected to flash false→true
Now: WS_FALLBACK fires onTransportSwitch (sets isConnected only).
Real disconnections (heartbeat timeout, network error) still fire the
full onDisconnect → onReconnect → resync cycle.
* fix(sync): relationship-aware reconnect with merge-not-replace
Two changes to resyncDirectoryAfterReconnect:
1. Candidate selection now also includes parent sessions of any child
sessions in the directory. Previously, if a child completed during
the disconnect gap (busy→idle), neither child nor parent was selected
because both appeared idle. The parent's task tool part would remain
permanently stale.
2. Parent resync merges parts instead of replacing. Previously, the
resync deleted parts for messages not in the fetch snapshot, which
could erase parts delivered by SSE events that arrived between the
fetch and the setState. Now only parts for messages in the snapshot
are overwritten; everything else is preserved.
* fix(sync): demand-load child session messages on access
Bootstrap only loads session metadata — messages are populated
exclusively by SSE events. When a user navigates to an old session
that spawned subagents, child session messages were never in the store.
Add useEnsureSessionMessages hook that detects this gap (session exists
in state.session but state.message[sessionID] is absent) and triggers a
background API fetch to load messages and parts.
ToolPart already calls useSessionMessageRecords(taskSessionId) which
returns empty when not loaded. Now it also calls useEnsureSessionMessages
to populate the store on first access.
* fix(sync): unmount-safe parent resync when child session goes idle
When a child session transitions to idle (completes), the sync layer
now schedules a targeted parts repair for the parent session's task
tool part. Previously this only happened when the ToolPart component
was mounted and had observed the child being active (taskChildSeenActive).
This covers:
- User navigated away while child was running
- App restarted with active subagent sessions
- SSE reconnect where child completed during disconnect
Uses the existing repairSessionParts mechanism with its 5s cooldown
to avoid redundant fetches.
* fix: type-check fixes for sync-layer parent resync
Fix TypeScript errors in Fix 5 implementation:
- Convert currentSessionId from null to undefined for resolveFallbackTaskSessionId
- Add default empty string for dir parameter in getScopedSdkClient
- Use explicit sessionID parameter for scopedClient.session.messages
All type-checks now pass.
* fix(sync): address PR review feedback on deduplication
- Use enqueuePartsRepair for session.idle parent resync instead of
direct repairSessionParts call. enqueuePartsRepair already has a 5s
cooldown to prevent redundant parallel API calls when multiple child
sessions go idle concurrently.
- Move useEnsureSessionMessages loading guard from component-scoped
React.useRef to a module-level Set keyed by directory:sessionID.
Prevents parallel fetches when multiple ToolPart instances mount
for the same child session.

sdk.path.get() / sdk.project.list() / sdk.app.agents() etc. return
{ data, error, response } without throwing on non-2xx. The x.data! /
x.data ?? [] pattern turned HTTP 5xx warmup responses into empty state,
and retry() never saw an error to retry.
Wrap everything through unwrap(): preserve the HTTP status on the
thrown Error so retry()'s transient detection (5xx) fires. Fixes the
class of bugs where a slow opencode sidecar leaves agents/commands/
sessions looking empty after startup.
markConnected skipped onReconnect when hasConnected was false and there
was no prior disconnect. Consumer state (isConnected) starts at false and
stayed false — the send button threw "Connection lost" until the HTTP
health check in initializeApp happened to race a setState through.
Now onReconnect fires on every successful connect; hasConnected is no
longer needed and gets removed.
Two fixes for intermittent "sessions missing at app launch":
- loadSessions: if session.list comes back empty but the store already
has sessions populated via WS events, don't clobber. OpenCode can
answer HTTP with [] while the WS snapshot is still arriving.
- loadSessions: wrap SDK errors preserving HTTP status so retry()'s
transient detection (5xx) actually fires. String(errorObject) was
erasing the status and retry gave up after one attempt.
- retry: broaden transient 5xx window from just 502/503 to any 5xx.
OpenCode can return 500/504 while warming up (session store reading
from disk), and those deserve the same retry treatment.
- Log bootstrap empty-session retries for future diagnosis.
markConnected skipped onReconnect on the very first successful connect
(hasConnected=false branch), but an earlier failed attempt could have
already fired onDisconnect -> isConnected=false. Consumer state stayed
stuck at false forever. Fire onReconnect in that case too.
Repro: launch app while opencode sidecar is still warming up so the
first WS attempt fails. Second attempt succeeds but isConnected stays
false; user sees "Connection lost" toast on every send.
FLUSH_FRAME_MS 16 -> 33. Delta events keep coalescing, just into larger
windows. AssistantTextPart already throttles text at 100ms, so the extra
granularity produced no visible benefit — just extra store.setState calls
and subscriber notifications per second.

Replace Radix-based wrappers (button, checkbox, collapsible, command,

typography utilities, and a redesigned CommandPalette. Add new

Update chat, layout, git views, settings, multirun, session and agent
management screens to use the new Base UI-backed primitives (anchor

Add `disabled` to the type so it propagates via rest spread to the
underlying element (e.g. textarea in simple mode). Resolves a type
error reported after the main merge.

Base UI's Menu.Item does not check `event.defaultPrevented` before
closing the menu, so the Radix-era `onSelect={(e) => e.preventDefault()}`
pattern no longer keeps the menu open. Replace those sites with the
Base UI `closeOnClick={false}` prop (VSCodeLayout rate-limit info
rows; AgentGroupDetail worktree actions).

Header (h-8) had the action row pinned with items-end + pb-1.5, which
placed the h-7 buttons ~2px above the header top and made them look
cropped. Switch to items-center so they sit on the same baseline as
the tabs.
* style(tabs): drop transitions on default variant, soften active pill
Default (underline) variant now switches instantly — no transform/width
transition on the underline indicator, no color transition on tab
buttons. Active pill bg is color-mixed down to 55% of
--interactive-selection so light-theme selection doesn't scream.
* style(button): pill-style elevation and introduce chip variant
Solid variants (default/destructive/neutral/primary/basic) now use the
active-pill shadow stack — hairline navy outer ring + stacked tight/soft
drops — instead of the pure-black inset/border approach. Outline
variant (and FancyButton basic) gets the same elevation without the
white top highlight (no fill to catch light).
Add a new chip variant: flat `border border-border/60` button without
elevation, intended for one-of-N toggle groups where a raised
button would read as the wrong affordance.
* style(header): apply pill-style shadow to OpenIn and Project Actions
Both split-button wrappers previously used a 1px CSS border for
definition. Replace that with the pill elevation stack so the header
buttons match the new Button variants and feel less hard-edged.
* refactor(toggles): migrate one-of-N segmented groups to chip variant
Color Mode, When-sessions-expire, voice/STT providers, auth method,
agent mode, MCP transport, tunnel type and terminal Ctrl/Cmd modifier
toggles all read as flat chip selectors rather than raised buttons.
Switch them from variant="outline" to the new chip variant so the
raised pill-style elevation doesn't fight the selected-state tint.
* fix(elevation): theme-adaptive pill-style shadow for dark mode
The navy (rgba(14,18,27,*)) outer ring was invisible on dark surfaces,
erasing the button/pill edge. Add dark: variants that use a subtle
white outer ring (rgba(255,255,255,0.10)) and darker drop shadows
(rgba(0,0,0,0.30/0.20)) so the elevation reads on both themes.
Applies to Button solid/outline variants, FancyButton equivalents,
the OpenIn and Project Actions header split-buttons, and the active
pill indicator in SortableTabsStrip.
* style(button): flat tinted variants with squircle corner-shape
Replace elevated pill-shadow design with a flat tinted language: pale tinted
fill + hairline tinted border + saturated tinted text for default/destructive.
Add CSS corner-shape: squircle with @supports gate so Chrome 136+ gets the
softened superellipse corners at 50px, Safari falls back to a slightly larger
round radius.
* style(tabs): replace active pill shadow with tinted border
* style(header): flat border and squircle corners for OpenIn / Actions
Drop pill-style shadow stacks in favor of a plain hairline border and apply
the same squircle corner-shape treatment as Button so header controls match
the new visual language.
* style(checkbox): drop filled background for tinted checkmark
Checked / indeterminate states now keep the transparent box, show a
primary-base check/minus glyph, and use a softened primary-tinted inset
border (50% mix) so the control reads as selected without a solid swatch.
* style(layout): widen sidebar-to-chat corner radius to 10px
* style(button): retune tinted variants and unify outline fill
- Bump primary fill toward noticeable but still soft (light 10/16/22,
dark 16/22/30) and weaken both primary and destructive borders
(12% light / 20% dark) so the tone reads without shouting.
- Further calm destructive across fill and border so revert-style
actions match the muted reference.
- Align the outline variant fill with --surface-elevated so git-view
generate/commit buttons share the header action button surface.
* style(tabs): align pill variant with new button language
Active pill now uses --surface-elevated fill and border-border/60 to
match the outline button. Track and tab/pill geometry adopt the same
squircle treatment as Button: 9-10px fallback with 50px radius under
@supports(corner-shape:squircle). Also tighten track padding (inline
2px, block 2px) and grow active tab height so the indicator fills
the track instead of floating inside it.
* refactor(theme): hardcode radius scale, drop per-theme override
Radius values are now fixed in the design system (flexoki-dark's scale
becomes the app default). Themes can no longer override --radius-* — the
config.radius block is removed from every theme JSON, dropped from the
Theme type, and no longer emitted by the CSS generator.
* chore(ui): lint/type cleanup across Base UI wrappers
* style(tabs): dial pill track background down to near-invisible

The chip variant now carries the tinted primary palette (same as the
default filled button) under aria-pressed, so consumers toggle selection
via a single aria attribute instead of repeating the border/text/bg
override classes. All existing chip consumers migrate to aria-pressed
and drop their hand-rolled selected className.

Single-file mode wrapped PierreDiffViewer in its own layout=fill which
creates a nested virtual-root; combined with the outer CSS containment
on the wrapper, Pierre's virtualizer measured a clamped viewport and
stopped rendering lines past ~150. Mirror the stacked-mode approach:
hoist a ScrollableOverlay as the sole virtual root/content and render
PierreDiffViewer inline, so the shared virtualizer sees the real scroll
viewport and paints every line.
Also drops an unused cn import in SessionRetentionSettings.
* feat(files): collapse floating editor controls behind icon button
The floating file editor toolbar now starts as a single pill icon button
and expands into the full control row on hover or click. Clicking outside
or moving the pointer away collapses it back, keeping the editor surface
unobstructed while the file is being read/edited. Fullscreen overlay
keeps its always-visible toolbar.
* fix(chat): align mobile session status bar radius with chat input
* fix(mobile): keep radio/checkbox/switch at their native size
Mobile CSS forced min 36x36px on every <button>, which swallowed our
Radio and Checkbox primitives (also buttons with role=radio/checkbox)
and ballooned them on touch devices. Exclude role=radio/checkbox/switch
from the touch-target rule and pin the Radio/Checkbox box size with
arbitrary px so padding-scale overrides cannot stretch them either.
* chore(mobile): drop unused cornerRadius prop plumbing
The status bar now hardcodes var(--radius-lg) on both views, so the
cornerRadius prop and the useUIStore selector that sourced it in
ChatInput are dead weight.
Save-as-plan and Add-to-notes actions were disabled on messages whose session
ran in a worktree, because session.directory alone does not reflect the
worktree attachment — the authoritative cwd lives in session-worktree-store.
Use useEffectiveDirectory (attachment cwd > worktree metadata > session.directory)
and resolve the parent project via the worktree map the sidebar already builds,
extracted into lib/projectResolution so session-ui-store and chat actions share
one resolver. No extra git calls.
When the computer sleeps and wakes, the SSE/WS event stream drops
silently. Messages appeared sent (optimistic insert) but never reached
the OpenCode server, and the user had no indication the system was
disconnected.
Three fixes:

The SSE event pipeline previously used a single global queue and a single
flush timer shared across all directories. Under concurrent multi-session
workloads, a busy directory's delta storm would block other directories'
status and state events from reaching the UI until the next flush tick,
producing the "multi-session latency" symptom users report.
Split the queue into one DirectoryQueue per directory, each with its own
coalesce map, stale-delta set, and flush timer. Directories flush
independently so a busy directory can no longer starve a quiet one. Coalesce
keys are now scoped to a single directory's queue, so the directory prefix
is removed from the key strings.
Cross-directory behavior only; same-directory multi-session behavior is
unchanged (React 18 auto-batching still collapses a single directory's
flush into one render).
* perf(sync): coalesce consecutive message.part.delta events per flush window
Within a 16ms flush window, consecutive delta events for the same
(messageID, partID, field) tuple are string-concatenated into a single
accumulated delta rather than being queued individually.
This directly addresses same-project multi-session workloads — most
notably parent sessions with subagent tasks (child sessions share the
same directory queue). Both parties stream deltas concurrently, which
previously multiplied raw event count proportionally to the number of
active sessions. Coalescing can reduce queue depth by 10-100x during
active streaming.
Safety: verified against event-reducer.ts — the delta handler is a pure
string append (existingValue + props.delta) with no per-event side
effects (no time.updated, no notifications, no diff calculations). The
merged result is semantically identical to applying each delta separately.
The staleDeltas skip mechanism is unaffected: accumulated delta payloads
retain their type and identifiers, so message.part.updated supersession
still works correctly.

Extend event-pipeline.test.js with behavioural coverage for both
optimizations landed in 98d013a and 258acf0:

- Leaves non-delta coalescing (session.status replace semantics) intact
All 13 tests pass under bun:test.
Also adds event-pipeline.bench.js, a runnable synthetic benchmark that
reports delta reduction and byte integrity across 8 workload scenarios
from "single session, 500 tokens" up to "10 projects × 5 sessions ×
1000 tokens". Run with:
bun packages/ui/src/sync/__tests__/event-pipeline.bench.js
Current numbers on this machine: 99.5% - 99.9% delta event reduction
with full byte-level integrity (concatenated delta bytes always equal
the input total).

condition between SSE events and HTTP bootstrap. Bootstrap and reconnect
both did full replacement of state.question, wiping SSE-delivered data
that arrived between the HTTP call initiation and response arrival.
Changes:
- bootstrap.ts: question and permission stores now use merge semantics.
Only sessions present in the API response are overwritten. Sessions
absent from the response are left untouched (they may hold SSE data).
- sync-context.tsx: reconnect question resync uses the same merge pattern.
No longer clears question entries for sessions not in the API response.
- bootstrap.ts: sdk.question.list() now passes directory parameter to
scope the query correctly.
This ensures SSE-delivered question data survives the bootstrap window,
while still allowing the API response to be authoritative for sessions
it covers.

The pipeline's stale-delta mechanism incorrectly marked all
message.part.delta events as stale when a message.part.updated
coalesced, regardless of queue position. This caused valid streaming
deltas to be silently dropped, resulting in blank or incomplete
assistant messages.
Additionally, when part events were dropped by the reducer (missing
parts array or partID not found), there was no recovery path — the
state stayed permanently out of sync until the next SSE reconnect
or manual refresh.
Also discovered: message.updated that successfully writes an assistant
message but has empty parts would render a blank bubble, with no
repair triggered since repair only ran on reducer return false.
Changes:
- Remove staleDeltas Set and deltaKey from event-pipeline.ts
- Coalesce still replaces same-key events, but deltas are never skipped

The sidebar now uses a stabilized session snapshot, preserves structural identity for unchanged rows, reads live row status/details per session, and applies a one-shot sort bump on idle->busy instead of continuously resorting during activity.
- Fix chat/input scroll instability by separating viewport-resize handling from message-growth handling, disabling conflicting native scroll anchoring, and stopping textarea autosize from collapsing on every growth keystroke. This removes the multiline typing jiggle during streaming and reduces unnecessary composer rerenders.
- Also gate voice context wiring behind voice-mode enablement and codify the learned render/scroll/order anti-patterns in AGENTS.md so future changes avoid the same classes of regressions.
* fix: resync session state after SSE reconnect to prevent stuck subagent UI
When a subagent completes while the page is in the background (common on
mobile PWA and desktop webview), the final SSE events are lost. The UI

On Windows, SSE events from OpenCode arrive with native backslash
separators and system-cased drive letters (e.g. D:\Dev\...), while the
UI child store keys use forward slashes with lowercase drive letters
from VS Code's workspace folder (e.g. d:/Dev/...). This mismatch
caused the child store Map lookup to silently miss on every directory
event, preventing session data, messages, and streaming responses from
reaching the React UI.
Changes:
- sync-context.tsx: Normalize incoming SSE event directory paths by
converting backslashes to forward slashes and uppercasing Windows
drive letters before the child store lookup.
- useDirectoryStore.ts: Add drive letter uppercasing to
normalizeDirectoryPath, aligning it with normalizeCandidatePath in
client.ts and normalizeWorkspacePath in main.tsx.
Both normalizations are no-ops on macOS/Linux where paths already use
forward slashes and have no drive letters.

When opening a new conversation draft for a different workspace,
OpenChamber kept using the config snapshot from the previously active
directory. The draft agent picker showed wrong agents and the first
send inherited a stale agent selection.
Use useConfigStore.activateDirectory() whenever the draft target is
established or changed:
- openNewSessionDraft: activate config on draft open
- overrideNewSessionDraftTarget: activate config on external override
- setNewSessionDraftTarget: activate config on user target change
- sendMessage (draft path): await activation before reading agent/model
Removes the inline agent resolution block in openNewSessionDraft that
duplicated logic already handled by activateDirectory.
