Bohdan Triapitsyn a1bc1368ae docs(changelog): title every release and require one
Every release file now carries a title: two to six plain words naming the
change a user would remember it for. The generator refuses a release without
one, promote carries the title from unreleased.md, and the unreleased
template opens with a title line. The changelog-authoring skill and the
format README describe how to write it.

1.16.0 2026-07-13 Session goals and faster remote access

App

New

  • Session goals: arm the target button in the composer and your next prompt becomes a goal. The session keeps working on it by itself, and a small model audits every finished turn, until the goal is done, blocked, or past its optional token budget.
  • Session goals: the loop runs on the server, so a goal keeps going with the app closed and survives a restart.
  • Session goals: a strip above the composer shows progress, with pause and resume.
  • Session goals: a goal can also start from the plan-implement dialog, from a scheduled task with "Run as goal", or from the "Craft a Goal" starter and the /craft-goal command.
  • Session goals: while a goal runs, one notification when it settles replaces the per-turn "ready" notifications.
  • Chat: you can prompt a subagent session directly. Open a subagent from the context panel and send it follow-up messages. Turn it on in settings.
  • Settings: an editor font size setting for the code editor (thanks to @bashrusakh).
  • Usage: OpenCode Go usage is tracked.
  • Files: the file viewer has a markdown preview toggle (thanks to @greghaynes).
  • Sidebar: projects can be sorted several ways, with a direction toggle (thanks to @bashrusakh).

Improvements

  • Permissions: per-session auto-accept lives on the server, so a session keeps auto-accepting tool calls with the app closed and after a server restart, and subagent sessions inherit it.
  • Permissions: auto-accept can be turned on for a draft before the first message (thanks to @bashrusakh).
  • Settings: chat visual settings are grouped into labeled sections (thanks to @bashrusakh).
  • Command palette: fuzzy search covers projects alongside sessions and files (thanks to @bashrusakh).
  • Editor: "Open in" recognizes VS Code Insiders.
  • Remote access: the phone's launch screen names the device it is connecting to.

Fixes

  • Remote access: connecting over the relay is much faster, with no wait on a stale local address that could take around 20 seconds on a phone away from home. When your computer gets a new local IP, paired devices learn it over the relay and return to the local network on their own, with no re-pairing.
  • Remote access: running several OpenChamber instances on one machine no longer lands paired devices on a random one, which was behind the intermittent "Unable to reach server" errors on paired phones.
  • Chat: a queued message sends when the session is already idle instead of waiting forever (thanks to @bashrusakh).
  • Chat: a pending agent question stays answerable after a server restart (thanks to @bashrusakh).
  • Chat: a renamed session keeps its new title instead of flickering back to the old one (thanks to @bashrusakh).
  • Sidebar: pinned sessions survive a refresh, and the file tree stays expanded while it refreshes (thanks to @bashrusakh).
  • Usage: Codex quota windows show the right reset times.
  • GitHub: PR and issue context resolves against the source repository when you work in a fork (thanks to @bashrusakh).
  • Notifications: session errors and subagent completions arrive on desktop, web, and mobile.
  • Agents: saving agent settings from the UI keeps custom YAML frontmatter fields (thanks to @bashrusakh).
  • Windows: a difference in drive letter casing no longer splits one project into duplicates (thanks to @bashrusakh).
  • Mobile: the sessions sidebar opens right away instead of taking many seconds on some devices (thanks to @tomzx).
  • Mobile: renaming a saved instance keeps its connection working. The stored access token was being lost on edit.
  • Mobile: on Android 15 the app no longer draws under the status bar.
  • Security: a request that fakes local host headers to look like same-machine traffic is rejected.

VS Code

New

  • Settings: an editor font size setting for the code editor (thanks to @bashrusakh).
  • Usage: OpenCode Go usage is tracked.

Improvements

  • Chat: a session with an active goal, started from the web or desktop app, shows the goal strip and its live status above the composer.
  • Notifications: subagent completion notifications follow the same settings as the main app.

Fixes

  • Chat: code blocks are highlighted again. The webview's security policy was blocking the syntax highlighter (thanks to @bashrusakh).
  • Chat: a queued message sends when the session is already idle instead of waiting forever (thanks to @bashrusakh).
  • Chat: a pending agent question stays answerable after a restart, and a renamed session keeps its new title (thanks to @bashrusakh).
  • Chat: tool output renders for tools that return something other than text (thanks to @bashrusakh).
  • Sessions: pinned sessions survive a refresh (thanks to @bashrusakh).
  • Agents: saving agent settings from the UI keeps custom YAML frontmatter fields (thanks to @bashrusakh).
  • Windows: a difference in drive letter casing no longer splits one project into duplicates (thanks to @bashrusakh).
